About MANU

MANU VILLANU is a Puerto Rican handmade fashion accessories brand founded by designer and maker Manuela Villanueva. Manuela learned to sew at the age of eight from her grandmother, sparking a lifelong relationship with making. With a background in Fine Arts and Industrial Design, she creates versatile bags, hats, and pet accessories from her studio in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The brand was born from her own experience as a traveler, after struggling to fit bulky straw hats and heavy handbags into her luggage. This led her to create lightweight, functional accessories designed to take up less space and move easily from place to place. 

STYLE
MANU VILLANU is designed for movement. Each piece is lightweight, versatile, and thoughtfully made for everyday use, travel, and outdoor living. Collections are created in small batches, exploring textures, reversible forms, and functional design that adapts to different moments and styles.

VISION
At the core of MANU VILLANU is a belief in slow creation, making with intention and without rush. It values craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and pieces that feel personal, lived-in, and meaningful.

MISSION
Each piece is handmade in Puerto Rico. Through small scale production, the brand focuses on creating objects that are both functional and expressive, while maintaining a conscious and intentional approach to design and making.
